Many of the tensions we experience today cannot be explained merely by “stress,” “economic hardship,” or “shifting agendas.”

At a deeper level, there is a noticeable hardening in people’s reactions to events, a serious decline in tolerance in relationships, and a growing normalization of indifference.

This situation has gone beyond being an individual issue and has turned into a societal pattern of personality dysfunction.

Lack of affection in childhood, oppressive or inconsistent family structures, a culture of “obedience,” and a weakened sense of justice…

When economic pressure, anxiety about the future, and a constantly changing agenda are added on top, individuals begin to lose their balance.

Many problems in the country are now being normalized. Shouting is presented as “strength,” manipulation as “intelligence,” and opportunism as “cleverness.”

On social media, the behaviors that attract the most attention are often the least healthy ones. This, in turn, encourages distorted personality patterns, especially among young people.

It must be stated clearly: this is not a “disease outbreak,” but largely a matter of moral and character erosion. And this erosion is not only a product of the individual, but also of the system and the culture.

The solution is not easy, but it is far from impossible. The first step is to face the truth: in a place where everyone is right, no one is truly healthy.

“A person in this world should fear only one thing: being unjust.”
— Abdülhak Hâmit Tarhan
