Fire at İnci Akü Factory in Manisa Brought Under Control

MANISA, Türkiye — A fire that broke out at the İnci Akü factory in Manisa Organized Industrial Zone was brought under control after approximately two hours of intensive firefighting efforts. A total of 52 firefighters and 22 fire engines took part in the operation, while factory workers were evacuated as a precaution.

The fire broke out on Friday evening, October 23, 2026, at the İnci Akü factory in the Yunusemre district of Manisa. Firefighters, medical teams, police officers and Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) personnel were dispatched to the scene after the blaze was reported.

FIRE BROKE OUT NEAR ACID TANKERS

According to initial information, the fire started in an area near acid tankers at the factory’s battery-charging station. Fire crews from the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department responded to the blaze, alongside teams from the Manisa Organized Industrial Zone and Muradiye Organized Industrial Zone fire departments.

Forest firefighting vehicles and 12 water tankers also took part in the operation to contain the flames.

52 PERSONNEL AND 22 FIRE ENGINES DEPLOYED

A total of 52 personnel and 22 fire engines from the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department participated in efforts to bring the fire under control. Additional fire crews, water tankers and forest firefighting vehicles supported the operation, which lasted approximately two hours.

Factory workers were evacuated following the outbreak. Authorities also established extensive safety measures around the facility and its surrounding area while firefighting operations continued.

CAUSE OF THE FIRE TO BE INVESTIGATED

The fire was brought under control following the intensive intervention by emergency crews. An investigation is expected to determine what caused the blaze.

No official statement has yet been released regarding the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage to the factory.
