Kemal Albayrak, a former Member of Parliament for Kırıkkale in the 20th and 21st terms, made noteworthy assessments on Türkiye’s legal system, security issues, school attacks, the Gülistan Doku case, and global developments during the “What’s Happening?” program organized by the Effective Thought Academy.
Kemal Albayrak, a former Member of Parliament for Kırıkkale in the 20th and 21st terms, participated in the “What’s Happening?” program of the Effective Thought Academy and offered comprehensive assessments of current events in Turkey and the world. Albayrak made noteworthy statements, particularly regarding recent security incidents, judicial processes, and transformations in the social structure.
Criticizing the current administration and social structure in Turkey, Albayrak argued that there is a serious breakdown in state mechanisms. He stated, “There is a state of decay in governance, morality, and institutions. This is not only an economic problem but also a structural one.”
He claimed that the principle of meritocracy in public institutions has weakened and emphasized that this directly affects public trust. Arguing that the rule of law is being eroded, Albayrak stressed that institutions must remain free from political and ideological influence.
Referring to the incidents in Şanlıurfa Siverek and Kahramanmaraş described as “school attacks,” Albayrak stated that such events create deep trauma in society.
He reminded that educational institutions were once seen as the safest spaces, but today parents face serious security concerns. He noted that this situation has turned into a broader social trust crisis rather than an isolated issue.
Commenting on the long-debated Gülistan Doku case in Tunceli, Albayrak described the reopening of the file as an important development.
He considered the expansion of the investigation noteworthy and stated that the involvement of certain public officials highlights the importance of internal state oversight mechanisms. “Allegations of information suppression must be thoroughly investigated,” he said.
Albayrak also drew attention to unsolved murders that have long been debated in Turkey. He stated that the cases of figures such as Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and Uğur Mumcu have still not been fully clarified, emphasizing that the fundamental duty of a rule-of-law state is to ensure complete justice.
Commenting on alleged assassination attempts against former US President Donald Trump, Albayrak said such events should be analyzed not only individually but also within global political balances.
He stressed that increasing tensions in world politics must be closely monitored.
In his concluding remarks, Albayrak outlined solutions, stating that Turkey’s path forward lies in full adherence to the rule of law, transparent governance, and democratization.
He said, “A state structure that is accountable, rule-based, and free from arbitrary governance is essential. Otherwise, public trust will continue to weaken.”
