Ballistic missiles and drones strike Kyiv region; one dead, 12 injured. Officials assess damage and emergency response underway.
Russia launched waves of ballistic missiles and drones at Kyiv and surrounding districts, Ukrainian officials said, hitting residential buildings and warehouses and leaving one woman dead and at least 12 people injured.
Timur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, said the Kyiv region was “massively” attacked and recorded damage in the Bucha, Brovary and Fastiv districts. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported concerns that people could be trapped under rubble after strikes in the city centre.
Air raid alerts remained in place for more than an hour as ballistic missiles and drone waves struck the capital and its outskirts. Officials said residential structures and warehouses were among the targets and emergency services were responding to the scenes.
The official statements in the source note intensified attacks on Kyiv in recent weeks, documented damage in multiple Kyiv region districts, and confirm casualties of one killed and at least 12 wounded. Kyiv authorities urged civilians to heed air raid sirens and take shelter. The report also notes reciprocal Ukrainian strikes on Russian infrastructure and calls for additional Patriot interceptors.
