MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli addressed the Turkish Parliament, commenting on global security trends, NATO developments, and Türkiye’s geopolitical role.
A group meeting of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) was held at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM) in Ankara, where MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli delivered a comprehensive address covering global security dynamics, regional conflicts, Türkiye’s geopolitical position, NATO developments, and the defense industry.
Bahçeli highlighted that rising tensions in the international system are reshaping global security architecture, drawing attention to developments across the Middle East, the Black Sea region, and Eastern Europe. He stated that diplomacy and military balance are simultaneously being redefined in the current global order, emphasizing Türkiye’s strategic position within this framework.
Referring to the upcoming NATO Summit in Ankara, Bahçeli stressed the importance of Türkiye’s role within the alliance, describing the country as a central geopolitical and diplomatic actor beyond its military contributions. He underlined Türkiye’s influence in key security corridors, including the Black Sea, Eastern Mediterranean, and the Middle East.
The speech also focused on Türkiye’s defense industry capabilities. Bahçeli noted the strategic importance of strengthening domestic production capacity, highlighting advancements in unmanned aerial systems, land and naval platforms, and air defense technologies as key elements of national security policy.
Bahçeli further referenced the historical legacy of the Turkish Armed Forces, pointing to the 2,235-year tradition of the Turkish Land Forces. He emphasized Türkiye’s participation in international military missions and its operational responsibilities across various regions.
Another topic addressed in the meeting was the restructuring of the military healthcare system and the potential reestablishment of military hospitals, which Bahçeli described as important for operational readiness and military efficiency.
The MHP group meeting took place amid an intensified period of foreign policy and security discussions in Türkiye’s parliamentary agenda.
