Two people found dead in Bray home; Garda investigation underway as forensic teams probe scene and inquiries continue into the deaths.
Two people were found dead at a house in Cois Cairn on Old Connaught Avenue in Bray shortly after 08:00 on Wednesday, prompting an ongoing Garda investigation.
The deceased are locally named as Bridgid ‘Biddy’ O’Brien and James McGinn. A cordon was established in the housing estate and a large blue forensic tent was erected at the scene.
Post-mortem examinations will be carried out by the state pathologist over Wednesday and Thursday, and the results will assist in determining the course of the investigation.
A senior officer has been appointed to lead the inquiry from an incident room at Dún Laoghaire Garda Station, supported by the Serious Crime Unit, and family liaison officers are supporting relatives of the deceased.
The discovery of two deaths at the same residence has prompted a coordinated investigatory response from Gardaí, including forensic work and specialist unit involvement, reflecting the seriousness with which the authorities are treating the incident.
Appointment of a senior officer and the use of family liaison officers indicate efforts to manage both the investigatory process and the needs of the victims’ relatives while forensic and post-mortem examinations proceed to establish facts that will guide next steps.
