The Norwegian Football Association (NFF) said retailers across Europe have sold out of the national team jerseys ahead of the World Cup quarter-final in Miami on Saturday, with demand surging after Norway’s victory over Brazil and heavy interest in striker Erling Haaland.

Official outlets including Nike and several shops have been out of stock since the kits launched in March, the NFF told the BBC, and orders for this year have reached a record high compared with previous seasons.

Torshov Sport in Oslo received a new shipment on Tuesday, prompting queues estimated at around 600 metres by local reporters; some fans reportedly camped overnight and waited up to 12 hours to buy a shirt.

Store manager Anders Lilleberg described the atmosphere as unusually intense, saying he had not encountered such energy in his many years at the shop.

Commercial director Runar Pahr Andresen said demand “has exceeded all forecasts” and that the association is currently earning more from jersey sales than ever before.

The NFF’s latest order totals about 250,000 kits, compared with roughly 50,000 sold during the same period last year, the association stated.

Nike acknowledged the shortages and said it recognises fans’ disappointment, adding that additional deliveries of the Norway Home Match and Stadium jerseys are expected to reach Norway in the coming days with broader availability thereafter.

While official stock remains limited, resale prices have risen sharply: the Nike Norway 2026 Stadium Home Jersey, originally priced at £89.99, is listed for up to £355 on some resale sites, and the blackout stadium away jersey is being resold for around £231 before shipping and tax.

Norway advanced to the quarter-finals after wins over Iraq, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Brazil. The quarter-final against England will kick off at 22:00 BST (17:00 EST) on Saturday at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
