TURKSTAT: Producer Prices Rise 2.57 percentage in August, Annual Increase Reaches 27.95 percentage

Türkiye’s domestic producer price index (D-PPI) increased by 2.57% month-on-month in August 2026, while the annual increase reached 27.95%. Manufacturing prices rose 29.68% year-on-year, while energy prices recorded the strongest monthly increase at 6.99%.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has released its Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) figures for August 2026, showing continued upward pressure on producer costs.

According to the latest data, producer prices increased 2.57% compared with July. The index has risen 20.88% since the beginning of 2026, while the annual increase reached 27.95%. Based on the 12-month average, producer prices were up 27.76%.

The annual rate was 25.16% in August 2025, meaning the pace of producer price growth accelerated to 27.95% this August.

Manufacturing Prices Rise 29.68% Annually

Among the four main industrial sectors, mining and quarrying recorded the highest annual increase, with prices rising 38.88%.

Producer prices in the manufacturing sector climbed 29.68% year-on-year, while prices increased 29.59% in water supply. The electricity, gas production and distribution sector posted a more limited annual increase of 7.57%.

Looking at the main industrial groupings, annual price increases were recorded at 30.28% for non-durable consumer goods, 28.54% for durable consumer goods, 27.41% for intermediate goods, 27.33% for energy, and 22.06% for capital goods.

Energy Leads Monthly Increase at 6.99%

Energy prices recorded the sharpest monthly rise in August, increasing by 6.99%.

Prices in electricity and gas production and distribution rose 6.03% month-on-month, while manufacturing prices increased 2.35% and water supply prices rose 1.40%. Mining and quarrying was the only major sector to record a monthly decline, falling 0.14%.

Among the main industrial groups, monthly price increases stood at 6.99% for energy, 2.84% for durable consumer goods, 1.84% for intermediate goods, 1.76% for capital goods, and 1.51% for non-durable consumer goods.

Producer Prices Up 20.88% Since Start of Year

The D-PPI has increased by 20.88% during the first eight months of 2026. The increase calculated on the basis of the 12-month average stood at 27.76%.
