Liberal Party Chairman Zübeyir Gülabi has claimed that a covert power struggle is taking place inside Iran following the ceasefire reached after the Iran–U.S. conflict. According to Gülabi, the country’s military structure is expected to undergo a major transformation, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps eventually being dissolved and all armed forces placed under the authority of the official government.

Speaking about the latest developments between Iran and the United States, Gülabi argued that the political and military situation unfolding in the region differs significantly from what has been publicly presented.

According to his assessment, the attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz during the NATO summit and the subsequent U.S. strikes on Iran indicate that a broader political arrangement may be taking shape between the two sides.

‘The United States and Iran’s ruling clerical establishment have reached an understanding.’

Gülabi alleged that Washington and Iran’s current leadership had reached an agreement under which Tehran would pursue a more cooperative relationship with the West, abandon the export of its revolutionary ideology, and receive increased economic investment.

He further claimed that Western governments, in return, would refrain from efforts aimed at overthrowing Iran’s current political system.

‘Iran’s dual military structure will come to an end.’

Commenting on Iran’s security institutions, Gülabi argued that the country’s parallel military structure would be dismantled and that all armed forces would ultimately come under the control of the official state administration.

He also claimed that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps would be dissolved, the Marja’iyyat would cease to function as a political institution, and Iran would evolve into an Islamic Republic governed by a democratically elected president.

‘Who carried out the bombings?’

Referring to the strikes that Iranian authorities initially announced before later retracting, Gülabi suggested they may have been the result of an internal struggle between rival power centers within Iran.

He alleged that the regular army may have targeted IRGC positions, while the Revolutionary Guards may have struck military facilities belonging to the regular armed forces.

Gülabi concluded that the U.S. statement denying responsibility for the attacks could eventually expose what he described as a hidden internal conflict inside Iran. He further claimed that the process would ultimately lead to the dissolution of the IRGC and the withdrawal of the country’s clerical leadership to the city of Qom.

Liberal Party Chairman Zübeyir Gülabi’s Explanation:

The current situation in the Iran–U.S. war: A ceasefire has been signed. While the NATO meeting was ongoing, Iran struck oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. The United States launched another attack on Iran. Last night, Iran announced several locations that it said had been bombed by the United States. The U.S., however, stated, “We did not carry out those bombings.” Iran then apologized, saying its previous statement had been incorrect.

So, what is happening?

The United States and Iran’s Mullah regime have reached an agreement. Iran will align itself with the West, will no longer export its regime, and will receive economic investments. In return, the West will refrain from attempting to overthrow the regime. However, Iran will no longer be a state with two separate armed forces. All military power will be placed under the control of the official government. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) will be dissolved. The Marja’iyyat (religious authority) will cease to function as a political institution. The regime will become an Islamic Republic governed by a President elected through popular vote.

Now, who carried out the bombings that Iran first announced and then denied?

The regular army struck targets belonging to the Revolutionary Guards. The Revolutionary Guards, in turn, struck targets belonging to the regular army. The U.S. statement saying, “We did not do it,” may reveal a hidden internal conflict within Iran.

What will ultimately happen: The Revolutionary Guards will be dissolved. The mullahs will return to the city of Qom.
