Türkiye’s official statistics agency TÜİK reported June 2026 inflation. Consumer prices rose 0.99% month over month and 32.11% year over year, while six-month inflation reached 17.76%.
Türkiye’s official statistics agency, TÜİK, released its June 2026 Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, outlining the latest changes in consumer prices across the country.
According to the published figures, consumer prices rose 0.99% on a monthly basis in June. Compared with the same month last year, the CPI increased 32.11%. Since the beginning of 2026, cumulative inflation has reached 17.76%, while the twelve-month average inflation rate was calculated at 32.03%.
The June report also provides a clearer picture of inflation during the first half of the year, reflecting price movements across major household spending categories.
Among the largest expenditure groups, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels posted the strongest annual price increase at 45.14%.
Annual inflation in food and non-alcoholic beverages reached 35.45%, while transportation prices increased 31.15% over the same period.
These three expenditure groups made the largest contribution to overall annual inflation, adding 8.61 percentage points from food, 5.92 percentage points from housing, and 5.19 percentage points from transportation.
On a monthly basis, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 0.17% during June. Transportation prices declined 0.05%, while housing-related expenses rose 2.30%.
Housing accounted for the largest monthly contribution to overall inflation at 0.27 percentage points. Food contributed 0.04 percentage points, whereas transportation had a negative contribution of 0.01 percentage points.
TÜİK reported that, among the 174 CPI subclasses included in the index, 138 recorded price increases in June.
Prices declined in 26 subclasses, while 10 subclasses showed no monthly change, indicating that price increases remained widespread across the consumer basket.
The official Core CPI Indicator B, which excludes unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold, increased 1.66% from the previous month.
On an annual basis, the same indicator recorded 31.18% inflation. Since December 2025 it rose 16.84%, while the twelve-month average reached 31.49%.
Core inflation measures are closely monitored because they provide additional information on underlying price trends by excluding items that typically experience greater volatility.
With the publication of the June CPI report, TÜİK completed the official inflation data for the first six months of 2026. The report includes monthly and annual inflation rates, expenditure-group performance, subclass price movements, and core inflation indicators that are used to assess consumer price developments in Türkiye.
