Harry and Meghan visit the UK as private citizens, navigating life without HRH status while engaging in public events and private commitments.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in the United Kingdom but will not perform official royal duties, the Lord Chamberlain wrote on behalf of King Charles, confirming they are private citizens who retain commercial and charitable activities.
The letter, sent to Prince Harry’s team and to government, military and Lord Lieutenants, states the couple will not use the HRH styles of His and Her Royal Highness and clarifies their public status upon return to the UK.
The communication aims to set out their position to official channels; Palace sources confirmed the distribution to the relevant offices.
The letter on behalf of the King defines the Sussexes as private citizens with commercial and charitable interests and removes them from performing official royal engagements. It reiterates that HRH titles will not be used and that official notifications were sent to Prince Harry’s team and key UK institutions.
