According to the statement from the health authority, the surge began late last week and continued into the weekend, with primary care clinics and emergency departments noting more patients with fever and respiratory symptoms.

Officials attributed the increase to seasonal transmission and confirmed that virological testing showed predominance of influenza A strains among sampled patients. No new public health measures were declared in the announcement.

The health authority provided daily case counts and outpatient visit numbers to monitor the trend, emphasizing that hospital admissions have risen modestly but remain within current capacity.
