US offers up to $20M for information on Iran’s nuclear program, seeking leads to disrupt proliferation and enhance global security efforts.
The United States Department of State is offering a reward of up to $20 million and possible relocation for information related to Iran’s nuclear program, according to a statement referenced by US Central Command.
The Rewards for Justice initiative, established in 1984, is seeking details on Iran’s facilities, equipment, associated personnel including those in the scientific community, and movements of such components. The statement cited concerns about the International Atomic Energy Agency’s loss of continuity of knowledge on Iran’s production and inventory of key components like centrifuges.
President Donald Trump reiterated that US forces have destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities and stated that efforts have ensured Iran will never possess a nuclear weapon, referencing past military actions including use of B2 bombers. Trump also warned about potential consequences for Israel had Iran obtained such weapons.
The remarks came amid ongoing conflict that began in late February following US and Israeli strikes on Iran, while Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed that his government continues efforts to resolve the conflict through dialogue.
The reward offer underscores a US emphasis on gathering intelligence to address gaps in oversight of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and materials. By coupling a high monetary incentive with possible relocation, the United States signals both an intent to obtain actionable information and concern for those who might provide it. The public reiteration of prior US military actions and presidential statements frames the reward within continued pressure on Iran amid the broader conflict context.
