A Ryanair service from Thessaloniki to Memmingen suffered a sudden cabin decompression minutes after take-off when a passenger window dislodged, leaving a 61-year-old man with his head and right shoulder partly outside the aircraft before other travellers pulled him back inside, his wife and fellow passengers said.

The flight, operated by Malta Air and tracking data shows it had been airborne for about 10 minutes, abruptly dropped 9,000ft (2,700m) and returned to Thessaloniki. Ryanair confirmed a window came loose and the aircraft landed normally; one passenger received medical assistance on the ground.
