If a political system that derives its legitimacy from exploitative states takes control of the state, can there be rule of law, democracy, reason, and legality there? Can it truly be a state governed by law? Can a state that restricts and destroys freedoms solve problems when captured by such politics? The real beneficiaries would be the exploitative states. Because politics itself is also designed by exploitative states.
The solution is for a social opposition movement to recognize these structures and unite around a candidate based on shared principles. Nothing can stand in the way of such a movement.
The candidate matters. These issues cannot be resolved with candidates shaped by today’s exploitative political system. The candidate of the rule of law is the one who stands against exploitation.
Exploitative states find actors and servants who will obey them. When traits such as corruption, personal interest, and immorality take hold in such individuals, the compromising information in hand becomes a tool of forced obedience to exploitation.
In such administrators, regardless of their position or status, honor, morality, and legality are no longer sought. There are no limits to their service to exploitation. They hand over all the resources of the country to exploitation for personal gain.
One must struggle while being fully aware of this reality. Courage and morality bring the strength to stand firm.
Bilgi University students fought and won their rights through determination. They did not divide themselves into left or right; they courageously resisted against the closure of their school. Let this be an example to politics.
Their rightful struggle deserves respect. This is the morality of legitimate resistance. I congratulate these brave and courageous young people.
May your generations continue, may your destinies smile upon you, and may your character also reflect in politics so that law, democracy, morality, reason, and science may prevail. 🇹🇷
