President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated after the Presidential Cabinet Meeting that the “Terror-Free Türkiye” process represents a historic turning point for the country’s economic and strategic future. Erdoğan said that ending the decades-long burden of terrorism would open the door to a new era of national development.

Speaking at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, Erdoğan noted that resources previously spent on counterterrorism efforts would now be redirected toward investments in education, healthcare, production, and transportation. “Türkiye’s development journey will accelerate even further,” he said.

“Türkiye Has Emerged as an Island of Stability”

Erdoğan also addressed recent global developments, particularly the economic and geopolitical repercussions following the attacks on Iran. He pointed to ongoing instability in fuel prices, disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, and continued fractures in global supply chains.

Despite these challenges, Erdoğan stated that Türkiye has maintained stability through strong economic and diplomatic measures. “Despite the instability surrounding us, Türkiye has emerged as an island of stability in its region,” he said.

Sharp Criticism of the Opposition

The Turkish president also criticized opposition parties, accusing them of exploiting the regional crisis for political gain rather than adopting a constructive approach during a sensitive period.

“Instead of prioritizing Türkiye’s national interests, the opposition chose to turn this process into a tool for political exploitation,” Erdoğan said, calling for unity and responsibility during a time of regional uncertainty.

Emphasis on Defense Industry and the Turkic World

Erdoğan highlighted the rapid rise of Türkiye’s defense industry, announcing that SAHA EXPO 2026 generated an $8 billion business volume. He reiterated Türkiye’s goal of becoming one of the world’s top defense exporters.

The president also underlined the strategic importance of the Organization of Turkic States, emphasizing stronger cooperation with Turkic nations following agreements signed during his recent visit to Kazakhstan.

Message on Gaza and Israel

Erdoğan strongly condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza, particularly the reported attack on the Sumud humanitarian aid flotilla in international waters. He described the incident as “piracy and banditry” and urged the international community to take action against Israel’s violations.

Eid al-Adha Holiday Message

The Turkish president also delivered a message ahead of Eid al-Adha, urging citizens traveling during the nine-day holiday period to follow traffic regulations carefully. Erdoğan expressed hope that the holiday would strengthen unity, solidarity, and brotherhood across the country.
