England take on Mexico in a World Cup last-16 clash as the BBC publishes its player ratings and analysis ahead of the big match.
What happened: England’s World Cup last-16 match against co-hosts Mexico is underway in Mexico, and BBC Sport has opened a player rater allowing fans to score both teams; the rater will close 30 minutes after the final whistle, BBC Sport says.
The fixture is taking place at the tournament venue in Mexico, with the host nation fielding players including R. Rangel, J. Gallardo and R. Jiménez, while England’s starting lineup features J. Pickford, J. Bellingham and H. Kane.
BBC Sport instructs users to rate players on a scale of 1 to 10 and notes participants must be signed in to a BBC account; the aggregated score shown after the rater closes will represent the average of all user submissions.
The published team lists show Mexico’s starting XI and substitutes status, with no substitutions yet recorded at the time of the announcement.
England’s announced starting XI and substitutes are displayed similarly, and also list no substitutions so far.
The rater interface requires JavaScript to display in some browsers; BBC Sport advises enabling JavaScript or trying a different browser if the tool cannot be seen.
The player rater is time-limited and will accept ratings until 30 minutes following full-time, after which the average scores from BBC Sport users will be presented.
