“The calendar said ‘Holiday,’ the words faded away,
The man replied, ‘So it is,’ with sorrow in his heart.”

once wrote that holidays gain true meaning only through collective peace and conscience.
compared the joy in children’s eyes to the future of a nation.

Can there truly be a holiday where justice is absent?
In a country where even the shadow of law has faded, can people genuinely feel the joy of celebration while fearing for tomorrow?

If mothers’ tears have not dried…
If children grow up with bowed heads…
If the elderly and the sick are isolated behind four walls…
If young people are forced to carry their hopes to other countries…

Then a holiday is not merely a day written on a calendar.

A holiday is conscience.
A holiday is justice.
A holiday is the feeling of belonging to a homeland where no one is excluded.

The real holiday will come when people can speak freely, when they are not punished for demanding their rights, and when children can look toward the future with hope.

Only then will tables truly be filled with abundance, prayers rise sincerely, people trust one another again, and smiles return.

Our wish is for this country to once again breathe under the shadow of justice, law, compassion, and conscience.

And one day, when we wake up on a holiday morning, may there be no sadness left in anyone’s eyes — especially in the eyes of children.

As wrote in “Posta Kutusundaki Mızıka”:

“My dear friend;
How many more holidays stripped of joy shall we endure…
My dear friend,
Today is a holiday.
But your eyes no longer shine.”
