In a press statement dated October 2, 2026, Gülabi addressed the rule of law, oversight mechanisms, justice and allegations surrounding fund and stock market fraud that have recently become a major topic of public discussion in Türkiye.

Gülabi alleged that the government had increased fuel prices in an effort to recover 20 billion that he claimed had been stolen through the fund fraud, saying, “The government raised fuel prices by up to 20 percent last night to take back from us the 20 billion stolen through the fund fraud.”

Gülabi argued that Türkiye was going through a difficult period in terms of the rule of law and oversight mechanisms.

“Today, Türkiye is going through a grave period in which the rule of law has been destroyed, oversight mechanisms have been paralyzed, and unchecked power is slowly corroding the state from within. Our citizens are being left helpless in their search for their rights, while their pursuit of justice is hitting a wall.”

“Which corruption case was investigated and concluded during the AK Party period?”

Referring to the December 17-25 corruption investigations, Gülabi recalled allegations involving money, money-counting machines and shoe boxes filled with cash.

“The money scattered across bathroom floors, the money-counting machines in hotel rooms and the shoe boxes filled with bribe money during the December 17-25 corruption scandals have been etched into the nation’s memory.”

Gülabi also questioned whether any corruption case had been properly investigated and concluded during the AK Party period.

“We ask: ‘Which corruption case was investigated and concluded during the AK Party period?’ Nothing has been concluded; there is a chain of scandals that have been covered up, left unpunished and attempts have been made to make people forget.”

Gülabi also criticized what he described as the handling of the FETÖ stock market allegations, the Sezgin Baran Korkmaz case, the Newborn Baby Scandal, the Kartalkaya disaster, narcotics allegedly delivered to Mersin Port and the February 6 earthquake.

“The wealth transfer scandal carried out through the FETÖ stock market established in courthouses was quietly closed when its trail reached AK Party members, with a prosecutor being forced into retirement. It was not resolved; it was covered up.”

“The Sezgin Baran Korkmaz scandal, initially promoted in pro-government media as involving a ‘philanthropic businessman,’ was also not investigated and resolved.”

“Even in a human tragedy such as the Newborn Baby Scandal, which occurred in hospitals directly supervised by the Ministry of Health, effective accountability was not ensured; the scandals were left to be forgotten.”

“The accountability for the 78 lives lost in the Kartalkaya disaster was not pursued. The real owners behind tons of narcotics delivered to Mersin Port with an address written on them were not pursued. While street dealers filled the prisons, the forces behind the drug traffickers were left in the dark.”

“The tens of thousands of our people we lost in the February 6 earthquake became victims of this corruption brought about by a lack of oversight and merit. Contractors close to the government were released with minor sentences.”

“A fish rots from the head”

Turning to the stock market fraud allegations, Gülabi objected to comments that attributed responsibility to the public.

“Comments blaming the public’s greed for stock market fraud have also drawn attention. A fish rots from the head. Do not look for the blame for stock market fraud and the fund robbery in society.”

He continued:

“It is not society that has deteriorated; it is the AK Party government, which has remained unchecked and unaccountable and is consuming the state from within like a moth. The cause of the illness is this governing approach that has resulted in corruption.”

Gülabi described the stock market fraud currently occupying the public agenda as the “Fraud of the Century” and linked it, together with government members and administrative figures whose names he said had become associated with the allegations, to what he called the unchecked model of government known as the “Presidential Government System.”

One of the most striking statements in his address was:

“THIS SYSTEM HAS TURNED THE FORMER FAMILY MINISTER, WHOM THEY CALLED NENE HATUN, INTO ‘FATMA THE FUND MANAGER.’”

Gülabi argued that a perception of impunity had become entrenched throughout the state.

“Because a perception of impunity has become entrenched at every level of the state for government members. The government that arrests people who have committed no crime under the slogan #AilemGüvende has had its family minister caught red-handed in the fraud of 500,000 families.”

“My dear citizens, I give you my word”

Gülabi also addressed citizens directly, making a number of commitments concerning the alleged fund and stock market fraud.

“My dear citizens, I give you my word:”

“We will take your money back from these thieves who stole it from you and return it to you.”

“We will strip those who robbed your funds of everything they have.”

“We will put stock market fraudsters where they belong.”

“We will not allow this matter to become time-barred.”

Gülabi also criticized the Ministers of Treasury and Finance, Justice, and Interior, claiming that failures in their duties had caused 500,000 citizens to lose trillions of liras and suffer financial losses.

“The Ministers of Treasury and Finance, Justice, and Interior, who, by failing to perform their duties, caused the loss of trillions of liras belonging to 500,000 citizens and caused them to suffer losses, are not ashamed to remain in their offices.”

Gülabi also addressed developments concerning the press and social media.

“While victimized citizens cry and demand the return of their principal, journalists reporting on corruption and negligence are being arrested, and access to social media is being blocked. The blocking of access to the T24 news website and the arrest of figures such as journalist Ali Tarakçı simply for speaking about these scandals are clear indications of the government’s effort to silence the truth instead of solving the problem.”

“The problem is a problem of justice”

Gülabi said the developments were fundamentally a matter of justice.

“THE PROBLEM IS A PROBLEM OF JUSTICE. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS THIS ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEM AND THOSE WHO IMPLEMENT IT.”

ECHR judgments in focus

Liberal Party Chairman Gülabi also addressed the rule of law and judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, referring to Article 90 of the Turkish Constitution.

“Article 90 of our Constitution is clear:”

“International treaties and ECHR judgments take precedence over domestic law.”

“The ECHR has issued judgments finding violations of rights concerning thousands of our citizens, including those affected by the KHKs.”

“Under the constitution adopted by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the government is obliged to comply with these judgments. However, the government continues to violate its own constitution.”

Gülabi also cited figures regarding ECHR judgments and pending cases.

“Just last week, the ECHR issued a judgment finding a violation of the rights of 947 of our citizens.”

“Since 2019, similar judgments have been issued concerning 4,500 people.”

“There are still 80,000 pending cases.”

Gülabi concluded this section by warning about what he described as the consequences of a lack of justice.

“It must not be forgotten: Where there is no justice, bandits rule the world. Banks are plundered, and your funds are looted.”

“Solution: Justice for All, Freedom for All”

Gülabi also outlined what he described as the Liberal Party’s proposed solution, saying Türkiye’s problems could be resolved in an environment where issues can be discussed freely, oversight mechanisms function and the judiciary is independent.

“Solution: Justice for All, Freedom for All.”

Gülabi continued:

“As the Liberal Party, we declare: Türkiye’s problems can be resolved in an environment where problems can be discussed freely, oversight mechanisms function and the judiciary is independent.”

Emphasizing the connection between justice and freedom, Gülabi said:

“JUSTICE CAN ONLY BE ESTABLISHED WHERE FREEDOM EXISTS.”

He concluded his statement with the following remarks:

“The duty of the state is to protect the property, life and rights of its citizens; not to protect criminals or officials responsible for negligence. We will continue our struggle for a transparent, accountable, law-abiding government and security for the free market.”

Gülabi concluded his statement by saying, “I wish you a blessed Friday.”

Liberal Party Chairman Zübeyir Gülabi:

WE HAVE BEEN ROBBED!

Press Statement (02.10.2026)

Dear Members of the Press, My Dear Nation;

Thank goodness, everyone. We have been robbed.

The government raised fuel prices by up to 20% last night in order to take back from us the 20 billion allegedly stolen through the fund fraud.

Today, Türkiye is going through a grave period of stagnation in which the rule of law has been destroyed, oversight mechanisms have been paralyzed, and unchecked power is slowly corroding the state from within.

Our citizens are being left helpless in their search for their rights, while the pursuit of justice is hitting a wall.

The corruption scandals of December 17-25 — the money scattered across bathroom floors, the money-counting machines in hotel rooms, and shoe boxes filled with bribe money — have been etched into the nation’s memory.

While Reza Zarrab, an Iranian agent who was declared “businessperson of the year” by ministers of the time, was presenting documents of the bribes he distributed one by one in American courtrooms, the police officers and prosecutors who uncovered this illegality have still been in prison for 12 years.

We ask: “Which corruption case was investigated and concluded during the AK Party period?”

Nothing has been concluded; there is a chain of scandals that have been covered up, left unpunished and attempted to be forgotten:

  • The wealth transfer scandal carried out through the FETÖ stock market established in courthouses was quietly closed when its trail reached AK Party members, with a prosecutor being forced into retirement. It was not resolved; it was covered up.

  • The Sezgin Baran Korkmaz scandal, initially promoted in pro-government media as a “philanthropic businessman,” was also not investigated and resolved.

  • Even in a human tragedy such as the Newborn Baby Scandal, which occurred in hospitals directly supervised by the Ministry of Health, effective accountability was not ensured; the scandals were left to be forgotten.

  • The accountability for the 78 lives lost in the Kartalkaya disaster, which was under the supervision of the Ministry of Tourism, was not pursued. The real owners behind tons of narcotics delivered to Mersin Port with an address written on them were not pursued. While street dealers filled the prisons, the forces behind the drug traffickers were left in the dark.

  • The tens of thousands of our people we lost in the February 6 earthquake became victims of this corruption brought about by a lack of oversight and merit. Contractors close to the government were released with minor sentences.

Comments attributing the blame for stock market fraud to the greed of the public have also drawn attention.

A fish rots from the head.

Do not look for the blame for stock market fraud and the fund robbery in society.

It is not society that has deteriorated; it is the AK Party government, which has remained unchecked, unaccountable and is consuming the state from within like a moth.

The cause of the illness is also this governing approach that has resulted in corruption.

The stock market fraud currently occupying the public agenda and described as the “Fraud of the Century”, together with government members and administrative cadres whose names have been associated with this fraud, is a direct result of the unchecked regime model called the “Presidential Government System.”

THIS SYSTEM HAS TURNED THE FORMER FAMILY MINISTER, WHOM THEY CALLED NENE HATUN, INTO “FATMA THE FUND MANAGER.”

Because a perception of impunity has become entrenched at every level of the state for government members.

The government that arrests people who have committed no crime under the slogan #AilemGüvende has had its former family minister caught red-handed in the fraud of 500,000 families.

My dear citizens, I give you my word:

  • We will take your money back from these thieves who stole it from you and return it to you.

  • We will strip those who robbed your funds of everything they have.

  • We will put stock market fraudsters where they belong.

  • We will not allow this matter to become time-barred.

The Ministers of Treasury and Finance, Justice, and Interior, who, by failing to perform their duties, caused the loss of trillions of liras belonging to 500,000 citizens and caused them to suffer losses, are not ashamed to remain in their offices.

While victimized citizens cry and demand the return of their principal; journalists reporting on corruption and negligence are being arrested, and access to social media is being blocked.

The blocking of access to the T24 news website and the arrest of figures such as journalist Ali Tarakçı simply for speaking about these scandals are clear indications of the government’s effort to silence the truth instead of solving the problem.

THE PROBLEM IS A PROBLEM OF JUSTICE.

THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS THIS ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEM AND THOSE WHO IMPLEMENT IT.

The Rule of Law and ECHR Judgments

Article 90 of our Constitution is clear:

  • International treaties and ECHR judgments take precedence over domestic law.

  • The ECHR has issued judgments finding violations of rights concerning thousands of our citizens, including those affected by the KHKs.

  • Under the constitution adopted by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the government is obliged to comply with these judgments.

  • However, the government continues to violate its own constitution.

  • Just last week, the ECHR issued a judgment finding a violation of the rights of 947 of our citizens.

  • Since 2019, similar judgments have been issued concerning 4,500 people.

  • There are still 80,000 pending cases.

It must not be forgotten: Where there is no justice, bandits rule the world.

Banks are plundered, and your funds are looted.

Solution: Justice for All, Freedom for All

As the Liberal Party, we declare:

Türkiye’s problems;

  • Can be resolved in an environment where problems can be discussed freely,

  • where oversight mechanisms function,

  • and where the judiciary is independent.

JUSTICE CAN ONLY BE ESTABLISHED WHERE FREEDOM EXISTS.

The duty of the state is to protect the property, life and rights of its citizens; not to protect criminals or officials responsible for negligence.

We will continue our struggle for a transparent, accountable, law-abiding government and security for the free market.

I wish you a blessed Friday.
