Kemal Albayrak Calls on CHP and İYİ Party to “Resign” and Criticizes the KHK System

Former 20th–21st term Kırıkkale MP Kemal Albayrak has sparked wide debate in Turkish politics with his statements shared on social media. Arguing that ongoing legal injustices are narrowing the space for political activity, Albayrak claimed that the only solution for the Republican People’s Party (CHP) is a collective resignation and returning directly to the people.

“They Have No Chance to Do Politics”

Albayrak stated that CHP members of parliament, mayors, and all party organizations should resign en masse and move across Anatolia to engage with citizens. Emphasizing that “as long as these injustices continue, they have no chance to do politics,” he argued that abandoning local factionalism and uniting on the basis of justice would free the country from arbitrariness and make early elections inevitable.

KHK Victims and Emphasis on “Truth”

He also criticized the opposition’s stance toward citizens dismissed under Decree Laws (KHK), describing the silence of both the İYİ Party and CHP as “escaping from the truth.” Referring to quotes from well-known thinkers Nihal Atsız and Kemal Tahir, Albayrak stressed that law changing according to individuals is not justice but “arbitrariness.”

Albayrak further stated that the lack of support for the justice-centered views of thinkers with different ideologies reflects either “fear of the regime” or “discrimination,” emphasizing that true justice can only be achieved when it is defended equally for everyone without exception.
