According to ENAG’s May 2026 inflation data, the E-CPI increased by 2.16% on a monthly basis. The annual inflation rate over the last 12 months was calculated at 53.13%.
The Inflation Research Group (ENAG) has published the results of its Consumer Price Index (E-CPI) for May 2026. According to the data, the E-CPI increased by 2.16% in May compared to the previous month.
ENAG’s calculations also showed that annual inflation remained at a high level. The increase in the E-CPI over the last 12 months was measured at 53.13%, indicating that consumer price growth continues to exceed the 50% threshold on an annual basis.
Compiled by independent academics and economists, ENAG’s inflation calculations are closely monitored as an alternative indicator of price developments in Türkiye. Differences between ENAG’s estimates and official inflation figures continue to generate discussion among economists and market participants.
Economic analysts note that while the monthly pace of inflation appears more moderate compared to previous months, the persistence of annual inflation above 50% remains a significant challenge for price stability and economic planning.
Market observers are expected to closely watch the impact of the forthcoming official inflation data on financial markets, monetary policy expectations, and the broader economic outlook.
