Kimi Antonelli took pole position at the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps, beating Max Verstappen by 0.317 seconds and leaving team-mate George Russell fourth, 0.508 seconds off the pace. Antonelli, who leads the championship by 25 points over Russell, said Q1 was tricky because of wind and balance changes but that he improved the car’s setup for Q2 and produced a strong two-lap effort in Q3. McLaren’s Lando Norris produced a strong qualifying pace, finishing third on the timesheets but will start 13th due to his own grid penalty. Oscar Piastri was seventh on the timesheet, with Arvid Lindblad’s upgraded Racing Bull running strongly in eighth despite being the only car fitted with the revision.
