ISTANBUL – Veteran Turkish actor Kadir İnanır passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 77 while receiving treatment at a hospital in Istanbul. According to an official statement, he had been hospitalized since May 14 after experiencing health problems and had remained in intensive care.
Reports indicated that İnanır was being treated for pneumonia and related medical complications. Despite ongoing medical care, he died at the hospital.
Kadir İnanır was regarded as one of the leading figures of Turkish cinema. Throughout his career, he appeared in numerous acclaimed productions, including Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım, Dila Hanım, Tatar Ramazan, and Yılanların Öcü, earning recognition from generations of moviegoers.
