The Government of Jersey has awarded a contract to Apetito Limited to provide hot school meals, menu development, nutritional compliance and associated catering services for primary schools across the island, Education Minister Deputy Catherine Curtis announced. The appointment follows an open procurement process and continues the School Food Programme that began as a pilot in 2019.

Apetito, a Wiltshire-based food company, joined the programme in 2024 and was selected after evaluation of quality, service delivery arrangements, sustainability and price. The government said the company demonstrated the capacity to meet the programme’s nutritional, operational and logistical requirements and to deliver meals at scale.

The government also confirmed that fresh fruit supplied by Valley Foods in St Martin will replace a dessert option twice a week as part of the meal provision.
