In an interview with Aaj Tak, Bainsla said members of the biking group repeatedly overtook his car and that he lost control near a U-turn while trying to avoid Chauhan. He denied deliberately hitting her, said he had asked the riders to slow down, and claimed he drove off fearing an attack when they shouted abuses.

Chauhan disputed that account in an Instagram video, saying the car began following her group early in the ride, its occupants became hostile after she asked for distance, and she continued riding because she feared being blocked. She also said a friend tried to shield her motorcycle and alleged the men appeared intoxicated; police did not confirm whether alcohol tests were conducted.

Bainsla’s lawyer, Naveen Bainsla, told ANI that his client had not been drinking, was traveling with relatives and that the incident amounted to negligent driving rather than a deliberate hit-and-run. Chauhan later posted additional footage challenging Bainsla’s version, saying it showed which vehicle moved toward the other and questioning why he did not stop to check on her. Reports indicate Chauhan sustained minor injuries and that her protective gear likely prevented more serious harm.
