Birmingham City have signed Canada international Marie Levasseur from Montpellier, the club announced, with the 29-year-old defender joining the Women’s Super League side after making 63 appearances across three seasons for the French club.

Levasseur progressed through the University of Memphis team and previously played for FC Fleury, Metz and ONS Oulu before her spell at Montpellier. She has 18 caps for Canada and made her senior international debut in 2015.
