The Nurdağı district of Gaziantep was shaken by an earthquake during the early hours of Saturday, June 13, 2026. The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that the earthquake occurred at 00:08 local time and measured 4.6 on the moment magnitude scale (Mw).
According to AFAD data, the earthquake originated in Nurdağı, Gaziantep, at a depth of 7.01 kilometers. The tremor was felt not only in Gaziantep but also in neighboring provinces and districts.
No official reports of casualties or significant damage had been released at the time of publication. Authorities stated that assessments were ongoing and that developments were being closely monitored.
In a statement shared by AFAD, officials said: “A 4.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Nurdağı district of Gaziantep Province at 00:08. We are monitoring the situation closely.”
